Secret Keeper - I was a winner!

Back on June 21, I got an email from the ABC Family people responsible for putting together the "Pretty Little Liars Secret Keeper Game" that I played throughout May and the beginning of June. If you didn't see my posts regarding the fun game, click here and read more about that.

It turns out I completed at least 8 out of 10 of the missions I had to do, so I was one of the winners! :) So, like I said, last month I got an email saying:

Hi! Thanks so much for playing our Secret Keepers game! Now comes the fun part - please send me a question for the cast member who has also been playing Spencer, and we will film her answering it. Timing is tight since the schedule for the show is very busy, so if you could send me your question today that would be great. Thanks again!

I was so ecstatic that Troian, the actress who plays Spencer on the show, would be answering a question of mine! I asked her: How did you capture Spencer's character? What did you add or bring to her personality for the show?

Today I finally got an email back from the ABC Family people, with a link to Troian's answer on a video on YouTube. She also answered four other questions from other book bloggers who were winners. I put the video below for you guys to watch! Ahhh so exciting, even though she doesn't say my name directly, it just makes me smile every time I hear her say "Hi Books Obsession" at the beginning...hah I know, I'm totally lame - but hey, it's exciting to have someone on TV refer to me!

I get to ask ONE question...

Today was the last day of the Pretty Little Liars Secret Keeper Game :( It seemed so short! But it was a lot of fun. As 'A' promised, those of us who were able to complete at least 8 out of the 10 missions, get to ask the producers of the ABC Family show ONE question. 'A' is going to email me soon asking for my one question. But...I have no idea what to ask!! Help!?

So pleaseeeee leave a comment with what you would ask the producers of the Pretty Little Liars show! :) Thanks so much, I desperately need ideas!

Pretty Little Liars Pilot Episode

The first episode of the new ABC Family show, Pretty Little Liars aired last night! I watched it twice in a row because it was just that good. I'll admit, I wasn't sure whether or not I would like the show at first, or if it would be anything like the books.... oh my goodness, it was EXACTLY like the book series! With the only exception being what the characters look like.

I thought the show went by extremely fast, it felt like a twenty minute show, definitely not an hour! And they were able to make the entire book just the first episode. I'm kind of worried now. I've only read the first two books in the series, and at the rate the show is going, I'll probably see a lot of spoilers. :/

My mission for the Secret Keepers Game was to look for a scene in the episode that might include a math test. That was my secret object, and I was supposed to look for a scene with that might include that. Dude, I kept my eyes glued to the screen but this was such a hard challenge. After watching the episode twice, I still couldn't figure out a scene that would include a math test. Help anyone?!

So overall I think this is going to be a really good show. I like the acting, the plotline is no question - brilliant and the guys are really cute. :)

Secret Keeper - Post Three

Everyone! I need your help!!

This morning I got a text from "A" saying that I'm running for student council and I need to get 100 friends to vote for me by the end of the day. Please, can you click this link and vote for Spencer Hastings?! It's really quick and easy and I would appreciate it so much. If I don't get 100 votes, "A" will spill one of my secrets!

Secret Keeper - Post Two

Thought I would give a quick update/explanation to those of you who don't quite understand the "Pretty Little Liars" game that I'm participating in, hosted by ABC Family.

I'm 1 out of 40 lucky people to get to play in this interactive and creative game. I received a free iPhone in the mail; it's actually "Spencer's" phone, since I'm playing as her character. In it, there are pictures, contacts from fictional characters in the series, text messages, etc. that all relate to her persona. It's so cute!

After I signed into Spencer's account on ABC Family's website, there was a message that said:

Welcome.

I see you've found your phone. Allow me to introduce myself. You can call me 'A'. Since Pretty Little Liars is premiering June 8 on ABC Family, I thought it would be fun to play this little game in order to kick off the show.

Here's how it works:

You've got 10 secrets. The goal of the game is to keep those 10 secrets from your three friends. You'll all meet as soon as you join the Facebook group. Watch your Facebook notifications. I'll be inviting you soon.

Now, about your phone. It's full of stuff you'll need later, so go ahead and start digging through it. It's yours.

You'll receive your first secret on Tuesday, and if you want to keep that secret, I suggest you do what I say. Remember, I know everything.

I hope that explains it a little better than I did. So far, I've had to do one mission that took me awhile to figure out how to do. I'm sort of nervous that I won't be able to do all my missions and keep my secrets but we'll see! Stay tuned for the next post! :)

Secret Keeper - Post One

A few days ago I got an email from ABC Family asking if I'd like to participate in their "Pretty Little Liars Secret Keeper Game". They had seen that I'm a fan of the book series by Sara Shepard, and I happily signed up. I didn't really know much about the game, other than I was playing the part of one of the four girls in the books and that we each have 10 secrets. The goal of the game is to be the last girl to not have her secrets revealed. Every day we'll have a mission to do, pretty exciting!

So today there was a package on my doorstep. After opening it, inside there was a black box and inside of that...dirt. Yep, that's right. A huge box of dirt with a note that said "Some secrets you have to dig for!" I reluctantly began to dig around inside the dirt and pulled out an iPhone! along with a secret item that I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say what yet - so I won't.

I signed onto facebook, too, and had a friend request from Alison (from the book)! She'll be the host of the game and will be in charge of telling us what our daily missions are. I'll keep you guys updated on this fun interactive game - it will last until June 18th I'm pretty sure.
