(Pssssst!)

Since my birthday is at the end of the month (the 29th to be exact!), my relatives were asking what I wanted. After much thinking, debating, and re-thinking I came up with the two books that I want the most right now.... CATCHING FIRE by Suzanne Collins, and ALONG FOR THE RIDE by Sarah Dessen!!

Eeeee! I really hope that they get them for me! I can't stand reading all of those Catching Fire reviews and seeing all of those Along For The Ride books on the shelves, since I haven't read either book yet but would give up my left arm for it! ...ok so maybe not that extreme BUT you get my point!

Be on the lookout for some major freaking out at the end of September if I do get the books! :]

Saturday Spotlight - Hope's Bookshelf

Saturday/Sunday Spotlight is where I feature another book blogger, for you to check out! You should take a look at their site and leave a comment. (: [I got this meme from Kristen's site.]

Name: Hope
Age: 16
Blog Name: Hope's Bookshelf

Share a little bit about yourself:
Well, I just turned sixteen. I'm a junior in high school. I love to sing and play the piano. I have a little brother who just turned thirteen, and two yellow labs, Buster and Brutus.

How long have you been blogging and what made you want to start?
I've been blogging for about a year and a half. Starting my blog was really an impulsive decision -- it was a snow day and I was bored. I saw The Story Siren and The Page Flipper's blogs and I just decided to start one, haha! It's not a really exciting story, it's quite boring, haha.

What does your site have to offer?
My site offers honest reviews, which is the main thing. If I didn't like a book, I'll tell you. I also participate in the In My Mailbox and Waiting on Wednesday memes. I try to host lots of contests too because those are always fun! =)

What is your favorite thing about book blogging?
My favorite thing about blogging is getting to meet and talk to amazing authors and bloggers. I've met and talked to some amazing people in the last year and a half, and I love that about book blogging.

What are your favorite books and/or authors? What about genre in general?
I can't pick just a few books for authors because I'm pathetic like that, but some of my favorite authors are: Sarah Dessen, Elizabeth Scott, Lisa McMann, Sarah Shepherd, Kate Brian, Susane Colasanti, Ellen Hopkins, Kristin Cashore, Jennifer Banash, and Melissa Walker. I'd have to say that my favorite genre in general are the real life kind of books. I love reading all genres, don't get me wrong, but I tend to like those ones a lot.

Thank you so much Hope for taking the time to answer my questions! Any of you who aren't followers of her site yet - what are you waiting for!?

If you would like to be featured on a Saturday Spotlight post, shoot me an email at booksobsession(at)gmail(dot)com

The Volturi have arrived!

Michael Sheen as Aro
(YES! He looks just like a vampire, it's creepy! Even though I have no clue who this actor is...)

Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus
(Hahaha is it just me....or does this look like something you'd find in one of those Halloween costume magazines?) :P

Jamie Campbell Bower as Caius
(Hmm this one's interesting. I think he has the face...but I'm not sure about that bleached blonde hair haha. I'm pretty sure he was in Sweeney Todd?)
...He kind of reminds me of Draco Malfoy..haha.

Dakota Fanning as Jane
(At first, I was speechless when I heard she'd be playing Jane - but after seeing this picture, I'm so glad! She looks the part perfectly, and Dakota is such a great actress she won't ruin it. :] )

Cameron Bright as Alec
(Ooohh... ;] )

What do you think!? I'm thinking amazingly creepy! Hmm maybe the Twilight movie sequels won't be as bad as I thought... that is, if the acting is better.

Psych Major Syndrome

I just now heard about this book: Psych Major Syndrome by Alicia Thompson which came out last month. I want to read it, it looks cute!

From Amazon:

Using the skills you've learned so far in Introduction to Psychology, please write a brief self-assessment describing how things are going in your freshman year. Presenting Concerns: The Patient, Leigh Nolan (that would be me), has just started her first year at Stiles College. She has decided to major in psychology (even though her parents would rather she study Tarot cards, not Rorschach blots).

Patient has always been very good at helping her friends with their problems, but when it comes to solving her own...not so much.

Patient has a tendency to overanalyze things, particularly when the opposite sex is involved. Like why doesn't Andrew, her boyfriend of over a year, ever invite her to spend the night? Or why can't she commit to taking the next step in their relationship? And why does his roommate Nathan dislike her so much? More importantly, why did Nathan have a starring role in a much-more-than-friendly dream?

Aggravating factors include hyper-competitive fellow psych majors, a professor who's badly in need of her own psychoanalysis, and mentoring a middle-school-aged girl who thinks Patient is, in a word, naive. Diagnosis: Psych Major Syndrome
